What is a Motorkhana ?

A motorkhana is a test of driver skill and vehicle performance. Typically a test is laid out that incorporates a complex series of twists, turns and reversing. Motorkhana is a low speed event, the tightly twisting nature of the tests generally limit the vehicles to first or possibly second gear.

What kind of vehicle do I need ?

The Motorkhana is open to any production motor vehicle that passes the safety inspection prior to competition. It need not be a particularly "hot" car as Motorkhana is all about skill rather than speed. Any jock can go fast in a straight line, turning is what takes skill.

Safety

The CAMS lays down strict guidelines on the safety aspects of the events which they sanction and insure. Club members have certification as officials for CAMS events and as such are trained in the requirements for running a safe, fair and efficient event.

It is recommended that all drivers wear an approved safety helmet while competing.

All competitors under 18 require a Parents or Guardians permission to race. Minimum age: 12 Years

Sensible shoes and clothing are a must, NO thongs etc. We will generally test new competitors before letting them compete (Usually involves once around the track to make sure that they can actually drive)

Do I need a Licence ?

Yes, CAMS licence is required. The minimum is a 2NS however a Single Event Licence may be purchased for the day. This can only be used for one event in 12 months and currently costs $20.00.

The cost of this licence can be deducted from a subsequent purchase of a higher level licence should you decide to run in future events.

Should you decide to register for a CAMS licence, the minimum required is a 2NS. This currently costs $44 per annum.

How much will it cost ?

Entry fees to the events do vary depending on the venue and CAMS permits required, but are usually in the order of $30 to $40
